USS Frank Cable Departs Sydney

SYDNEY (April 6, 2022) – A tugboat tied alongside the Emory S. Land-class submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), leads the ship out of the harbor as the ship departs Sydney, Australia, April 6. Frank Cable is currently on patrol conducting expeditionary maintenance and logistics in support of national security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

USS Dewey Completes Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training

U. S. Navy and Royal Australian Air Force Conduct First Cooperative Air-to-Air Refueling

Pilots Lt. Cmdr. Mark Lascara and Lt. Thomas Coffin observe Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) KC-30A Air to Air Refueling their U.S. Navy (USN) P-8A during an evolution for the Royal Australian Navy Fleet Certification Period. This was the first ever evolution between a RAAF KC-30A and a USN P-8A in an operational setting. VP-47 conducts maritime patrol and reconnaissance as well as theater outreach operations as part of a rotational deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

SOUTH CHINA SEA (March 15, 2022) The guided-missile destroyer USS Momsen (DDG 92), Royal Australian Navy Anzac-class frigate HMAS Arunta (FFH 151), and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Murasame-class guided missile destroyer JS Yuudachi (DD 103) transit the South China Sea during a trilateral training event. Momsen is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy's largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet's principal fighting force, and is underway supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific.
