KUCHING, Malaysia (April 7,2019) – Malaysian first responders and Royal Air Force Reserves Flight Lieutenant John Carolan-Cullion, lift a civilian with simulated injuries from a boat during a field training exercise as part of Pacific Partnership 2019. The event gives local civil response units an opportunity to practice their reaction to a simulated flood disaster with the assistance of partner nation military personnel. Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific.

Guam, during a first-time proof of concept lift on board the Military Sealift Command maritime prepositioning force ship USNS 2nd Lt. John P. Bobo (T-AK 3008) in Apra Harbor. NCHB-1, Detachment Guam, assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, is the Navy’s only active duty cargo handling battalion. They are a rapidly deployable unit of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, capable of loading and discharging ships and aircraft in all-climatic and threat conditions.

Fleet Activities Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel.
