Music enjoys a long and proud tradition in the Naval service and
today's U.S. 7th Fleet Band carries on that tradition with a modern,
fast-paced beat. The 7th Fleet Band in a word is EXCITEMENT!
Created in 1943 with the establishment of the U.S. 7th
Fleet, the band has performed for literally millions throughout the
Western Pacific. They have brought their special brand of American
music to enthusiastic fans in Japan, Republic of the Philippines,
Republic of Korea, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia,
Singapore, Indonesia and many other areas of the Far East.
Comprised of professional Navy Musicians, 7th Fleet Band operates
from Yokosuka, Japan, along with the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship, USS
Blue Ridge (LCC 19). |
