Musician First Class Ramon
Eddie Hernandez, a native of Brownsville, Texas enlisted in the United States Navy in March of 1998 and attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation from Recruit Training he auditioned for the Musician rating and changed rates before attending Radioman School. He then graduated Musician A School in Norfolk, Virginia and reported to the Pacific Fleet Band in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where he served as horn instrumentalist.
Petty Officer Hernandez reported to the SEVENTH Fleet Band in Yokosuka, Japan in December of 2001 and served as horn instrumentalist and unit leader for the newly created Shonan Brass Quintet. In December of 2006 he detached for duty as Recruit Division Commander in Great Lakes, Illinois. He then went on to Navy Band Southwest, as Administrative Petty Officer, Master at Arms, and Leading Petty Officer of the Salsa Band, Crucero, where he was then promoted to Musician First Class.
In August of 2012, Musician First Class Hernandez reported once again to the SEVENTH Fleet Band where he served as Operations Coordinator and is the band's current Leading Petty Officer.
Petty Officer Hernandez is working on his bachelor's degree in Organizational Management through Ashford University. His personal awards include the Navy Achievement Medal (2 awards), and numerous unit and campaign decorations. Petty Officer Hernandez resides in Yokosuka, Japan with his wife Sayuri and daughter Natsune.
