YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 25, 2007) -- A hospital corpsman draws blood from Ship's Serviceman Seaman Rebecca Nichols in the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) medical facility. The U.S. Pacific Command Armed Services Blood Bank Center (ASBBC) came aboard Blue Ridge in support of a weeklong blood drive. The ASBBC, based out of Camp Lester Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan, gathers blood donated in the Pacific region and distributes it for the treatment of injured and wounded U.S. service members around the globe.
