SULU SEA (June 30, 2008) -- With a helicopter refueling on deck, USS Thach (FFG 43), USS Thach (FFG 43) steams off the coast of the Philippine Islands. The U.S. frigate has been at the ready to refuel helicopters which have been air-lifting food and water to remote locations on Panay Island, Republic of the Philippines. ILOILO, Philippines (June 30, 2008) -- Teamwork gets it done at Iloilo Airport. Philippine Army Soldiers continue to work hard alongside Sailors from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 4 delivering food and water to remote locations on the island of Panay. The Soldier is loading a 100 pound sack of rice to be dropped off in the remote village of Altavas. The island was hit hard by Typhoon Fengshen and the Ronald Reagan carrier Group has been assisting for the past six days.
