PHUKET, Thailand (May 15, 2012) - Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) and Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU), receive flowers from students at the Lampanwa School during a community service project with the Royal Thai Navy. New Orleans and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th MEU are deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
