Captain Stader attended the United
States Naval Academy graduating in 1988. He selected the USS HARRY
W HILL (DD 986) based in San Diego for his first assignment.
Subsequent sea duties included CICO of USS COWPENS (CG 63) in San
Diego; Operations Officer of USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) in
Yokosuka, Japan; Operations Officer of USS YORKTOWN (CG 48) in
Pascagoula; Executive Officer of USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) in Mayport;
Commanding Officer of USS ROSS (DDG 71) in Norfolk; and Commanding
Officer of USS HUE CITY (CG 66).
Captain Stader’s shore duty assignments included Naval Postgraduate
School (Masters of Science in C41); Department Head Detailer in
Millington, TN; Aide to the Chief of Naval Operations, and action
officer at SOCOM in Tampa. During this tour, he deployed to Bagram,
Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In his most
recent shore assignment, Captain Stader was Head, Washington DC
Placement Branch at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, TN.
He is married to the former Jennie Lee De Gaglia of Ft Lauderdale,
FL and they reside in Jacksonville, Florida.
