Senior Enlisted Adviser to the U.S. 7th Fleet Staff, Master Chief David Jenkins

Master Chief Jenkins is a native of Valdosta, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1995. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Electronics Warfare Technician Class “A” and “C” School at Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Corry Station, Pensacola, Florida.

His initial sea tour was from October 1996 to December 1999 aboard USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.  In December 2002, he transferred to USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) where he stood watch as Combat Information Center Watch Officer, Surface Warfare Coordinator, and Air Warfare Coordinator.

His shore duty assignments include Navy Information Operations Command Yokosuka, Japan and Navy Information Operations Command Colorado.

Most recently, he completed a tour aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) as Intelligence Department leading chief petty officer. Master Chief Jenkins is currently serving as senior enlisted leader for 7th Fleet Staff embarked aboard USS Blue Ridge.

Jenkins graduated from the U.S. Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy as Class 164.  He has earned a Bachelor’s of Science from Excelsior College and earned the Enlisted Information Warfare, Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare, and Afloat Training Specialists qualifications. His decorations include, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 gold stars), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and numerous campaign and unit awards.
