CAPT Rexrode graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. He is a distinguished graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and holds a Master of Administration from Central Michigan University.
Afloat, CAPT Rexrode served on USS GATO (SSN 615), USS OLYMPIA (SSN 717), and USS CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI (SSN 705) home-ported in Guam. CAPT Rexrode commanded USS MISSOURI (SSN 780) in Groton, CT and Submarine Squadron ONE in Pearl Harbor, HI. Additionally he served as an Anti-Submarine Warfare liaison officer deployed with Destroyer Squadron Seven.
His staff assignments include intern on the Joint Staff, Flag Aide to the Director of Navy Test, Evaluation and Technology Requirements, Task Force 74 Deputy Chief of Staff for Material and Logistics in Yokosuka Japan, Future Operations and Nuclear Task Force Divisions of United States Strategic Command, Senior Member of the Fleet Forces Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board, and Special Assistant to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations.
CAPT Rexrode has served on teams that have been awarded the Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Battle Efficiency awards.
CAPT Rexrode currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Commander, US SEVENTH Fleet.
