USS Barry Departs 7th Fleet and Japan after Six Years of Forward-Deployed Service

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) departs Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) while shifting its homeport to Naval Station Everett, Washington, and bringing an end to nearly seven years of forward-deployed time in U.S. 7th Fleet. Barry was assigned to Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy's largest forward-deployed DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet's principal surface force.

CARAT/MAREX Timor-Leste concludes, strengthens regional partnerships

Carrier Air Wing Five Jets Participate in Aero India 2023

BENGALURU, India (Feb. 10, 2023) An F/A-18E Super Hornet from the "Royal Maces" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27 taxis on the runway after landing at Yelahanka Air Force Station Feb. 10, ahead of its participation in Aero India 2023.  Aero India offers a venue to build stronger relationships between the U.S. and India and the international community. The "Royal Maces" are forward-deployed to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. The squadrons directly support the 7th Fleet area of operations and enable a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group Conduct Combined Exercises

An MV-22 Osprey from the “Ugly Angels” of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 flies by the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (NIMCSG) and Makin Island Amphibious Group (MKI ARG) with embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (13th MEU) are conducting combined expeditionary strike force (ESF) operations in the South China Sea as part of continuing and routine interoperability training operations in the Indo-Pacific region.
