Carl Vinson Strike Group Hosts Reception in Singapore

The Carl Vinson Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet. U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike groups have patrolled the Indo-Asia-Pacific regularly and routinely for more than 70 years.

Waves of AAVs loaded with 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit Marines disembarked the USS Bonhomme Richard and stormed the beach during the exercise. Amphibious operations training is one of the many scenarios the 31st MEU conducts during their 2017 spring deployment.
