Captain Rich LeBron enlisted in 1989 and served as a submariner. LeBron was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) Program and subsequently earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of San Diego and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He is a Joint and Combined Warfighting School graduate and NATO Defense College Anciens.
A Surface Warfare Officer and proud Navy and Marine Corps dad, LeBron is currently the 7th Fleet Chief of Staff. He served aboard USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) as division officer, USS Milius (DDG 69) as Chief Engineer, engineering plant inspector for Afloat Training Group, Pacific, USS Benfold (DDG 65) and USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as Executive and Commanding Officer, and as Commodore of Amphibious Squadron Eleven.
Ashore, LeBron served as Speechwriter to the Chief of Naval Operations and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, aide to Commander, U.S. Southern Command, and Special Assistant to Commander, Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe. He also served as Director of U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander's Strategic Initiatives Group.
LeBron is a Joint Specialty Officer, speaks fluent Spanish, and has earned the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal along with various other personal, unit, and service awards.
