Captain Rich LeBron enlisted in 1989 and served as a submariner. Rich is a Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) Program alumnus. He earned a University of San Diego Bachelor’s Degree and a University of Florida MBA. He is a Joint and Combined Warfighting School graduate and a NATO Defense College Anciens. He is a Surface Warfare Officer and a proud Navy and Marine Corps dad.
At sea, Rich served a division officer on USS The Sullivans (DDG 68), as Chief Engineer on USS Milius (DDG 69), as engineering plant inspector for Afloat Training Group, Pacific, as Executive and Commanding Officer of USS Benfold (DDG 65) and USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), and as Commodore of Amphibious Squadron Eleven. He reported to 7th Fleet as Chief of Staff.
Ashore, Rich served as Speechwriter to the Chief of Naval Operations and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, aide to Commander, U.S. Southern Command, and Special Assistant to Commander, Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe. He also served as Director of U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander's Strategic Initiatives Group.
Rich is a Joint Specialty Officer, speaks fluent Spanish, and has earned the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal along with various other personal, unit, and service awards.
