Japan Joins Reagan CSG to Operate Underway in the Philippine Sea

PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 16, 2022) The U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) JS Ohnami (DD 111) and JS Yamagiri (DD 152) steam in formation in the Philippine Sea, Aug. 16. The U.S. Navy and JMSDF routinely conduct naval exercises together, strengthening the U.S.-Japan alliance and maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region. U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command Conducts Maintenance in India

CHENNAI, INDIA (Aug. 7, 2022) – The Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) moors pierside in L&T Shipyard in Kattupalli, near Chennai, India, Aug. 7, 2022 for scheduled maintenance. As part of Military Sealift Command’s Combat Logistics Force (CLF), Charles Drew enables U.S. Navy ships to remain at sea and combat ready for extended periods of time. In addition, CLF ships, like Charles Drew, also resupply international partners and allies operating in the Indo-Pacific Region. VP-5 showcases P-8A capabilities in Indonesia

Lt. Bradley Bailey, a naval flight officer from Patrol Squadron (VP) 5, exchanges a gift with Maj. Hendro Sukamdani and Col. Dedy Ilham S. Salam of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, during Exercise Super Garuda Shield. Super Garuda Shield, a part of Operation Pathways and a longstanding annual, bilateral military exercise conducted between the U.S. military, Indonesia National Armed Forces, has now expanded to a multinational exercise encompassing 14 Nations. This exercise reinforces the U.S. commitments to our allies, and other regional partners reinforcing joint readiness, and the interoperability to fight and win together.

PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 2, 2022) An F/A-18E Super Hornet attached to the Eagles of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 115 launches from the flight deck of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in the Philippine Sea, Aug. 2. The Eagles conduct carrier-based air strike and strike force escort missions, as well as ship, battle group, and intelligence collection operations.
