USS Oklahoma City Returns to Guam

The Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723) returns to its homeport of Apra Harbor, Guam. Oklahoma City is one of four forward-deployed submarines assigned to Submarine Squadron 15.

USS Mustin Provides Aid to Filipino Fishermen in Distress

Two Filipino fishermen signal they are in distress to Sailors from USS Mustin (DDG 89) after their fishing boat was disabled in the South China Sea.  Mustin used their Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) to tow the adrift fishing vessel to rejoin their fellow fishermen. Mustin is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Chancellorsville Celebrates 120 Years of Care

Chief Hospital Corpsman Mark Naluz, from Nashville, Tennessee, and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jenson Yalunggonzales, from Long Beach, California, cut a cake in the Chief Mess on the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) during a celebration for the Hospital Corpsmen's 120th birthday. The Hospital Corps was officially created on June 17th, 1898, but hospital corpsmen have been serving the U.S. Navy for over 200 years. Chancellorsville is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

NMCB 5 Conducts Mount-Out Exercise

Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, chain a container to a pallet during a 48-hour Mount-Out Exercise (MOX) in Okinawa, Japan June 19. The MOX simulates one of the core capabilities of a construction battalion to deploy an air detachment, along with construction equipment, within 48-hours to any required location around the globe. NMCB 5 is forward deployed to execute construction, humanitarian and foreign assistance, and theater security cooperation support of United States Pacific Command.
