USS America first LHA to visit MCAS Iwakuni

Capt. Ken Ward, commanding officer of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), second from right, leads a tour for local and regional civic and military leadership on the ship’s flight deck during a port visit to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni. America, lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

ANNUALEX 2021 is a multilateral exercise conducted by elements of the Royal Australian, Royal Canadian, German, JMSDF and U.S. navies to demonstrate naval inoperability and a joint commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

USS Rushmore arrives in Sasebo for FDNF duties

Sailors assigned to Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo, Japan (CFAS) handle lines as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) moors pierside at CFAS Nov. 17, 2021 becoming the newest addition to the forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF). The Rushmore relieves another Whidbey Island-class ship, USS Germantown (LSD 42), which departed Sasebo Sept. 15, 2021 after more than a decade of FDNF service.
VP-26 TRIDENTS FIND SMALL CRAFT LOST AT SEA

Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group Conducts Port Call in Guam

APRA HARBOR, Guam (Nov. 11, 2021) – The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) arrives at Guam for a port visit. The arrival of Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group marks the first time that a carrier strike group with the advanced capabilities of the F-35C Lightning II and Navy CMV-22B Osprey have visited Guam. Carl Vinson Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability through alliances and partnerships while serving as a ready response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
