Harpers Ferry and 11th MEU Arrive in Brunei for CARAT 2019

MAURA, Brunei (Oct. 10, 2019) Sailors man the rails as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) arrives in Maura, Brunei, for Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei. Harpers Ferry and elements of the 11 Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are ashore in Brunei to perform day and night training in an urban environment and to enhance interoperability and partnership between the U.S. and Brunei during CARAT Brunei 2019.

WATERS NEAR GUAM (Sept. 30, 2019) The littoral combat ship USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10) leads a formation followed by Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) frigate RSS Formidable (FFS 68), dry cargo ship USNS Amelia Earhart (T-AKE 6), guided-missile destroyer USS Momsen (DDG 92), and RSN frigate RSS Intrepid (FFS 69) during a photo exercise (PHOTOEX) in support of Exercise Pacific Griffin 2019. Pacific Griffin is a biennial exercise conducted in the waters near Guam aimed at enhancing combined proficiency at sea while strengthening relationships between the U.S. and Republic of Singapore navies.
