First ASEAN-US Maritime Exercise Successfully Concludes

CHANGI NAVAL BASE, Singapore (September 06, 2019) U.S. Navy Sailors and representatives of ASEAN member state maritime forces gather for a photo during the ASEAN-U.S. Maritime Exercise (AUMX). The first ASEAN-U.S. Maritime Exercise, co-led by the U.S. and Royal Thai navies, includes maritime forces from the U.S. and all ten ASEAN member states. USS Emory S. Land Arrives in Darwin

SASEBO, Japan (April 11, 2018) The submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) is moored at Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo during a deployment as an expeditionary submarine tender conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance to Navy units. Land and USS Frank Cable (AS 40), the U.S. Navy’s only two submarine tenders, both homeported in Apra Harbor, Guam, provide maintenance, hotel services and logistical support to submarines and surface ships in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.

PHILIPPINE SEA (August 15, 2019) The Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) sails alongside the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force guided-missile destroyer JS Myoko (DDG-175) while underway. The Navy and JMSDF regularly operate, train and exercise together to improve interoperability and strengthen joint capabilities. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
