U.S. Fleet Oiler Conducts Replenishments-at-Sea, Enhances Interoperability During Annual Exercise

PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 27, 2021) -- Henry J. Kaiser-class replenishment oiler USNS Big Horn (T-AO198) conducts underway replenishments in the Philippine Sea with partners and allies, including FGS Bayern (F217), Germany’s Brandenburg-class frigate, as part of Annual Exercise, Nov. 21-30.  Naval forces from Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan and the United States took part in the multilateral, multinational exercise, led by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. NMCB-5 Completes Cohesive COMMEX with 9th ESB

The U.S. Navy Seabees assigned to NMCB-5 are deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific, strengthening their network of alliances and partnerships, and providing general engineering and civil support to joint operational forces.
