LANGKAWI, Malaysia (March 26, 2019)  Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Adm. John Aquilino speaks to key naval and air leaders from around the Indo-Pacific during the Chief of Navies' Roundtable Talks at the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition. Approximately 1,400 U.S. Navy and Air Force personnel participated in LIMA19. U.S. Navy aircraft on display included a P-8A Poseidon, EA-18G Growler, and MH-60R Seahawk. The 7th Fleet flagship, USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), and destroyer, USS Preble (DDG 88), arrived Mar. 25.

STRAIT OF MALACCA (March 25, 2019) - U.S. 7th Fleet Flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) arrives for a port visit in Langkawi, Malaysia. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy, and as 7th Fleet command ship, is responsible for fostering relationships within the Indo-Pacific Region.

SUBIC BAY, Republic of the Philippines (March 21, 2019) The Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Pioneer (MCM 9) ship pulls into Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines for a port visit. Pioneer, part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.

Kevin Cooper speaks at a search and rescue planning meeting led by Coast Guardsmen from the U.S. Coast Guard 14th District during Pacific Partnership 2019. Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year, the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase stability and security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.

PHILIPPINE SEA (March 14, 2019) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85), the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69), the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62), and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) maneuver while operating in the Philippine Sea. U.S. Navy warships train together to increase the tactical proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units in an Era of Great Power Competition.

Preble Arrives in Phuket

Phuket, Thailand (March 18, 2019) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Xiao Wang, from San Francisco, prepares to raise the first Navy jack prior to anchoring off the coast of Phuket, Thailand during sea and anchor detail aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88). Preble is visiting Phuket for a regular scheduled port visit. Preble is deployed to the U.S 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
