Amphibious Force 7th Fleet Holds Change of Command

SASEBO, Japan (May 17, 2019) - Rear Adm. Fred Kacher, right, oncoming commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 7, salutes Rear Adm. Bradley Cooper, offgoing commander, ESG 7, aboard amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during an Amphibious Force 7th Fleet change of command ceremony held aboard the flagship, May 17.  Commander, Amphibious Force 7th Fleet is the Navy’s only forward-deployed amphibious force, headquartered at White Beach Naval Facility in Okinawa, Japan, and is responsible for the full range of expeditionary operations from disaster relief to crisis response in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

KOLONIA, Pohnpei (May 2, 2019) – U.S. Navy Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Rob Norton, assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2, conducts a level 2 wharf inspection at Pohnpei Harbor, enhancing regional resiliency during Pacific Partnership 2019. Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year, the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase stability and security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships across the Indo-Pacific.

USS Pioneer and Patriot arrive in Puerto Princesa

PUERTO PRINCESA, Republic of the Philippines (May 9, 2019) The Avenger-class mine countermeasure ship USS Pioneer (MCM 9) and her sister ship USS Patriot (MCM 7) pull into Puerto Princesa. Both Pioneer and Patriot, part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, are operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.
