Pacific Partnership 2019 Opens in Marshall Islands

Republic of the Marshall Islands (March 11, 2019) A representative of the Majuro Mejen Armij places a lei on Royal Navy Capt. Paddy Allen, director of mission, following the opening ceremony aboard the Military Sealift Command fast transport ship USNS Brunswick (T-EPF 6). Pacific Partnership, now in its 14th iteration, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Each year, the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase stability and security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo Pacific.

HSC-25 Aids Cruise Ship Passenger

PACIFIC OCEAN (Mar. 04, 2019) Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Ty Nichols, assigned to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, is lowered to the deck of the MV Arcadia to provide emergency assistance to a cruise passenger in distress during a MEDEVAC. HSC-25 provides a multi-mission rotary wing capability for units in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations and maintains a Guam-based 24-hour search-and-rescue and medical evacuation capability, directly supporting U.S. Coast Guard and Joint Region Marianas. HSC-25 is the Navy’s only forward-deployed MH-60S expeditionary squadron.

Joshua Cowart, executive officer of the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14) prior to a memorial service aboard the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) ship Kri Usman Harun (359). The ceremony was held to honor the American and Australian crews of USS Houston (CA 30) and HMAS Perth (D 29) that lost their lives in battle against the Japanese Imperial Navy during World War II.
