ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam (April 9, 2019) Debris from an explosion fills the air during joint quarry operations conducted by Sailors assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 (NMCB) and Airmen assigned to 554th Red Horse Squadron at Anderson Air Force Base’s quarry. NMCB conducted the demolition in order to maintain proficiency in blast operations that support construction and repair efforts in the region. NMCB-133, provides expeditionary construction and engineering capabilities that includes maintenance and operation of expeditionary bases and facilities, tactical sustainment bridging, humanitarian assistance through construction civic action details and civic action teams and theater disaster response capabilities in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.

HSC-25 Rescues Two From Sunken Watercraft

GUAM (Apr. 11, 2019) Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 1st Class William Medlin lowers Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Robert Washington, both assigned to the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, to rescue two local spear fishermen after their personal watercraft sank off the east coast of Guam. HSC-25 provides a multi-mission rotary wing capability for units in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations and maintains a Guam-based 24-hour search-and-rescue and medical evacuation capability, directly supporting U.S. Coast Guard and Joint Region Marianas. HSC-25 is the Navy’s only forward-deployed MH-60S expeditionary squadron.
