These tests give NMCB 1 Sailors the opportunity to perform quality assurance checks on their system’s maximum range and communication quality with Port Hueneme, Calif. NMCB 1 provides expeditionary construction and engineering support to expeditionary bases and responds to humanitarian assistance disaster relief requests.
America Arrives In Singapore

The amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) is moored pier side while on a scheduled port visit to Singapore. America is in Singapore to enhance U.S. and Singapore relations and experience the culture of the country. America is currently embarked on its maiden deployment and is part of the America ARG comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) and America.
Navy identifies missing Stethem Sailor

Lt. Steven D. Hopkins, a Texas native who received his commission at the Citadel in May 2009 and reported to Stethem in July 2017, was reported missing and assumed overboard Aug. 1 at about 9 a.m. At the time the ship was conducting routine operations 140 miles west of Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines.

YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 17, 2016) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) returns to Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka following its 2016 patrol. Stethem made a brief stop at FLEACT Sasebo to pick up family members for a Tiger Cruise. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 83 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
