ISE BAY, Japan (Jan. 31, 2021) Sailors deployed with Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7 build a combat rubber raiding craft aboard the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) minesweeper tender JS Uraga (MST 463) in preparation for Mine Warfare Exercise (MINEX) 1JA 2021. USS Ronald Reagan begins the second round of COVID-19 vaccinations

YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 2, 2021) Machinist’s Mate (Nuclear) 1st Class Brian Busby, assigned to the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), receives the second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY). Medical personnel and strategic forces were the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Ronald Reagan returned to Yokosuka in November 2020 following a six-month deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.

USS Rafael Peralta arrives in Yokosuka, joins U.S 7th Fleet

YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 4, 2021) –  The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) arrives at Fleet Activities Yokosuka after completing a homeport change from San Diego, Calif., to join U.S. 7th Fleet. The forward presence of Rafael Peralta, a Flight IIA destroyer that can deploy with 2 MH-60 variant helicopters and also has improved ballistic missile defense, anti-air and surface warfare capabilities compared to its predecessor, enhances the national securi-ty of the United States and improves its ability to protect strategic interests. As the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed fleet, 7th Fleet employs 50-70 ships and submarines across the Western Pacific and Indian oceans.
